Stephen has over 10 years of experience in Criminal Law, initially joining Draycott Browne in 2005 as a legal clerk, then joining the Magistrates Court Department in 2008 on qualifying as a solicitor. He obtained his duty solicitor status in 2009.
Stephen is often found representing clients facing allegations at the police station and his experience gained over the past 10 years combined with dealing with the consequences of police interviews at court, means he is well placed to offer you appropriate advice at this vulnerable time.
Daily experience of advocacy in the Magistrates and Youth Court means that he is familiar with the full range of offences appearing before the courts from Driving Offences to Murder, offences of serious violence, drugs, robbery and conspiracy offences. In addition to his abilities defending those facing serious offences, Stephen is well regarded for his empathy and abilities when defending those more vulnerable members of society facing charges before the court.
Away from the Magistrates Courts, Stephen has regularly and successfully represented those appearing before the Independent Adjudicator in adjudication proceedings and in appeal hearings at the Crown Court.
